DJ Neekola

DJ Neekola

Born in New York and educated in Virginia, Neekola currently resides in Washington, DC, where she works as a full time international DJ. Inspired by her parents musical talents, Neekola has been involved in music since childhood. The early years were spent in rock bands as a lead singer, keyboard player and songwriter. However, upon moving to Germany in 1997, Neekola was introduced to her soulmate, electronic dance music. She spent so much of her time dancing in the nightclubs within Europe. It was during this time she was inspired to pursue music production. After having a bit of trouble, she was advised by her mentors in the industry that she should first learn to DJ, and then her production skills would come naturally soon after. So she headed on out to NYC's Scratch Academy, learned the basic skills, acquired her own turntable setup, and then her life changed forever.

"DJing has given me the ability to share my passion with people all over the world, whether we speak the same language or not, and it has helped me to inspire others as music has inspired me throughout my life" -Neekola

Neekola is not only one of Washington, DC's most recognizable names in the industry, but she is now capturing the attention of audiences by performing worldwide in Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and Peru. In the United States, she has played all over the East Coast to include Miami for the Winter Music Conference, New York City, Virginia Beach and Baltimore, Maryland. She has performed alongside some of her favorite artists such as Robbie Riviera, BT, Quivver, Menno De Jong, Serge Devant, DJ Rap and Steve Smooth just to name a few. She also works hard to give back to the community and donates a lot of her own time to help raise funds and awareness for charity, and is an advocate for living a healthy lifestyle.

"Music is such a powerful tool. The best way to use this power is to promote good messages, such as having fun, dancing, and positive attitude with the best beats and lyrics I can find as well as create myself. This positivity, enthusiasm, and good spirit comes from within and is recognized by those on the dance floor, and in turn I am rewarded by happy faces, pumping fists and dancing feet."

Neekola has just released her first original electronic album, "Playtime", dedicated to all of the people in her life that have inspired and helped her become the person, and the artist she is today.

Rich Webb {1977-2010}

Rich Webb

At the age of 19 with a promising future in motorcycle racing, Webb was involved in a serious accident, dashing any hope of racing professionally. With that type of rush suddenly lost it was essential he discover some form of expression to fill the void. He found music. While some use the force of music to heal themselves, Rich, through hard work and sheer determination has used music to heal others. It’s no coincidence the term ‘resident’ is used for both doctors and deejays. Rich Webb is a resident to all of Washington. Since 2002 he has helped people dance away their worries with residencies at FUR, Nation, FIVE, Lima, SPANK at 1223, Andalu, Eyebar, Saki, Home Nightclub, Indebleu, K Street, and Club TEN in Baltimore, M.D. Playing alongside the likes of Samio of Yoshitoshi, Shinichi and Yo, Webb has destroyed dance floors becoming one of the most successful and well respected names on the D.C. house music scene. One thing is certain, Rich has the ability to help people forget the daily grind and lose themselves in the debaucherous mystique of house music.

Influenced early on by The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, and Sasha & Digweed; later by Dean Coleman, Sander K, and Dave Seaman; Rich has allowed himself to remain malleable when it comes to performance. Adverse to track IDs, EDM sub-genres and the overall politics of clubbing, Rich is (as cliché as it may sound) all about the music. Says Webb, “My style spans all genres of house. I play what sounds good.”

Since 2002, Webb had been a featured DJ at Home Nightclub(Ultrabar), Club Pulse at Andalu(Spot) and Club SPANK at 1223, all in Washington, D.C. His weekly weekly residency with Soulstice Productions at Bliss events is what truly launched his career to a new level. New Year’s Eve 2005 saw Webb spin alongside Noel Sanger, later that year he was in Miami for WMC. Two years after that he was headlining a Gucci – sponsored NYE party at Play (DC) and then it was off to Costa Rica to open for Max Graham at Vertigo (San Jose). In 2009 Rich was afforded the opportunity to spin weekly with the world’s best. Since the early days of DC clubbing one event has set the standard. That event is Glow. Since becoming a Glow resident, Rich had opened for David Guetta, Benny Benassi, Eric Prydz, Hernan Cattaneo, Roger Sanchez and a host of other world – renowned acts. Webb spent countless hours listening to sets, researching track lists and molding his repertoire to blend with that of the headliner. As a result, his extensive library is comprised of unique, eclectic and well – refined house music. Rich Webb was truly a legendary DJ in the Washington, D.C. club scene.

It is impossible to predict the future, yet if the past is any indication one thing is clear; the only place for Rich to go would have been the top of the sphere. Webb’s meticulous approach to DJing has left him with a tremendous music collection. After spinning alongside the world’s best, he is without fear when it comes to performing before thousands. By using music to channel his emotions, Rich Webb is able to pour his soul through the speakers and provide life to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
